COURSE AIMS & CONTENT
Aims: To develop the exercise professional’s understanding of mental health conditions and the benefits of activity and positive lifestyle behaviours.
Outcome: You will be able to plan, deliver, and evaluate activity sessions in the community and/or clinical settings with clients with a range of mental health conditions.
CONTENT:
Mandatory modules:
- Background, prevalence and stigma
- Common mental health conditions
- Promoting behaviour change
- Practical application
- Roles, responsibilities, professionalism
Additional modules (3 to be completed) A range of other conditions and lifestyle related modules are available.
ENTRYREQUIREMENTS:
We recommend you hold a recognised Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification
