The NASM CPT Bridging Course has been developed as an up-skill for those already qualified as Level 3 personal trainers who are looking to discover the power behind NASM’s Optimum Performance Training (OPT™) Model.
OPT™ virtually eliminates programming and program design guesswork for any fitness, sports performance, or sports medicine professional, and provides undisputed results specific to individual needs and goals.
What will the CPT Bridging Course include?
Using the evidence-based OPT™ model, students will learn how to accelerate every client towards any goal. With these skills, students will become a qualified solutions-expert that clients will come back to time and time again.
The CPT Bridging course covers the following objectives:
- Introduction to the NASM OPT™ Model
- Integrated Assessment
- Principles of Flexibility Training
- Principles of Core/Balance/Reactive/SAQ Training
- Principles of Resistance Training
- Fundamentals of OPT™ Program Design
How is the NASM CPT Bridging Course delivered?
The course is delivered over 2 days via an interactive workshop that will allow trainers to understand the highly-acclaimed, evidence-based approach that is Optimum Performance Training.
At the centre of the OPT™ method is a thorough kinetic chain assessment, and during the workshops, students will have the opportunity to explore the head-to-toe fitness assessment that is the ‘Overhead Squat’ – a systematic approach that evaluates an individual’s strengths and weaknesses in the areas of posture, movement, strength, and flexibility. The outcomes of assessment can then be used to design highly effective, periodised programmes through systematic application of flexibility, core, balance, reactive, SAQ and resistance training techniques.
Workshops are supplemented with study via the NASM online learning centre, where students will have access to presentations, quizzes and practice exams.
- 2-day workshop format
- NASM online learning platform providing access to abridged study material and a practice exam
- NASM online theory exam (multiple choice)
- Summative assessment (written and observed) leading to the NASM International CPT qualification.
